How to Study Listening Course

Hello, you will begin to study this course. I’d like to say a couple of things about how to study this course. I hope they will be of some help to you.

Let’s make sure that you have everything you need.

1) You should have 6 tapes accompany this course. It is for listening exercises.

2) You should have a cassette recorder or a walkman. It is useful for listening to the tapes and self-recording.

This course is compound of two books. They are Workbook 1, Guidebook1. And there are 6 tapes. You need to listen to them when you learn it and finish the exercises. By the end of this term, you should finish all the exercises in Workbook 1 by yourself. When you meet the difficulties in listening, you can get instruction from Guidebook1, which includes all the tapescript (录音文本). Of course, you had better not look into Guidebook1 before listening.  

Listening can be difficult without reading at the same time, but it is essential to acquire the ability to do this. You will find your own best method to learn this course, but you should remember it is necessary to insist on doing listening practice constantly and regularly. It is a good idea to plan your study time and set aside a minimum time each day for study.
